[Evening freewrite] I looked at the ampersand site yesterday (mayfair's page on gothic.net) and was struck by how great it was. Not the looks, but the way it was laid out and what it held. It's like this -- an online journal effort; but it's much better. I have a freewrite page (these ramblings) but I want more. I want to have a more organized thoughts page as well. The freewerite is very random. It's purpose is to keep you writing. But something where you can stop, pause, and organize thoughts would be good as well. I would like to have two documents that would display in the same window. And be able to overlap them. Frames are almost what I want in this respect (rather than overlap, you have two panes that you can scroll.) But they're not quite right. I want the two panes to be connected. So I can jot additions, notes, and etc to my thoughts here. Sort of comment and expand on the ideas I get out in my freewrites. Thus the two windows will move together. I don't think I cna implement this in current browser's I might have to design a new interface to handle this metaphor or I might have to go with something less than ideal. Maybe tables or footnote type things. I could index according to paragraph and then display another frame in a footnote spot when the user goes to the new paragraph. I don't know exactly. To do this dynamically would be nice. That would require a text formatter of some sort. Every reference to paragraph 8 would generate a link from paragraph 8 to the other text. When we scroll over a link in paragraph 8, the window below loads the new text. This might almost work out. I'm not sure. Anyhow. I think that I'm ready to do something spectacular. But I'm not sure what. Maybe write a short story. Or maybe finish sewing a bunch of things. I have a lot of morning energy. But it slowly dwindles as the day goes by. I don't know. I'm waking up extrordinarily early. And falling asleep at reasonably early hours... It's as if I've started to condition myself to a 23.5 hour day and so I'm slowly inching my way around the clock.... Where is there a robin? Foir is it not spring? The Portagee is always drawn pale, yet she's not, is she? Is that not why she was affectionately called the Portagee? [End evening freewrite]
